FAQ (704) 968-4348 • igc.petsit@hotmail.com
What type of pets do you care for? We care for dogs, cats and most small house pets. We do have some exceptions so please contact us to make sure we can accommodate your pet.
What exactly is “in-home” pet sitting? Do you come to my house? Yes, we provide pet care in the comfort of your own home – not our home. That is the beauty of our service. Your pet is able to stay in his or her own familiar environment which greatly reducing stress and maintains their comfort and feeling of security. You decide how many times a day you want us to visit your pet and the length of those visits based on our services.
What are your rates for pet sitting and dog walking? Our rates are listed on the corresponding website pages for In-Home Pet Sitting, Cat-Only Visits and Dog Walking. You can always call us at 704-968-4348 and we will be happy to discuss our rates with you in more detail.
Am I in your service area? If your zip code is 28226 or 28210, we do service your entire area. If you reside in 28211, 28270 or 28277 we ask that you call us for verification since we provide partial coverage to these areas. If we do not service your area, we will be more than happy to refer you to another pet sitting company.
Why do you service only a small portion of South Charlotte? Our goal has always been to remain small so that we can get to know our clients personally. We are the primary pet sitters of our company. We feel the best way to maintain a one-on-one relationship with our clients and to ensure their comfort and trust is to maintain a smaller, more manageable service area.
How do I establish service for my pet sitting or dog walking needs? You can initially contact us through our website, email (igc.petsit@hotmail.com) or business phone (704-968-4348). Once we gather basic information about your needs, we will then set up a time convenient for parties to complete the initial in-home consultation. This consultation is at no cost to you.
Why is an In-Home Consultation needed? This consultation is important for many reasons. It gives us a chance to meet you and your pet and for you to get a sense of who we are and what we do. This meeting is also used to answer additional questions each of us may have and for us to receive instructions on how to properly care for your pet. Initial paperwork will also be completed at this time.
Are you insured and bonded? Yes, we are insured and bonded through the Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Can I find out how my pet is doing while I am away? Absolutely! If you prefer to receive pet updates via text messages, emails or phone calls in lieu of our standard daily written notes just let us know. We will be more than happy to accommodate your request.
Would you mind bringing in my mail and taking out our trash while I am gone? We certainly can! Retrieving mail/newspapers, curbing trash/recycling, alternating lights/blinds and even watering indoor plants is what we refer to as Basic Home Care. It is included free-of-charge with most of our services.
What happens if I return home earlier than scheduled or, if my return home will be delayed? These circumstances do happen from time-to-time. In either event, we ask that you notify us immediately by phone (704-968-4348) to properly discontinue or extend service. Refunds in association with an early return will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Although every effort will be made to accommodate late returns, we cannot guarantee service beyond the agreed upon end date.
What is your cancellation policy? We understand that plans sometimes change. We ask that you notify us as soon as possible so that we may accept another request in place of your cancellation. Possible cancellation fees are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Do you charge extra during the holidays? Which holidays? We charge a minimal holiday fee of $5.00 per day, as opposed to per visit, on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. (Please note that these dates fill up quickly. It is best to schedule your needs as soon as possible.)
Do you charge extra for medication administration? An extra charge depends on if your pet is difficult to medicate or if an injection is involved. In either situation, we may charge a fee of up to $10 per administration. Please call us to determine if this fee will apply to your needs.
What type of payment do you accept? We accept cash or checks only. Payment is due on the first day of scheduled service. Checks should be made out to: In Good Company Pet Sitting, LLC.
Do you offer any discounts? Yes, we do. We offer new clients a 10% discount applied toward their first scheduled service. We also offer a 15% discount for existing clients when they refer new business to us. This discount is applied once the referred client completes service with us.
